I am proud of my work with The Phone Coop. I was one of its first members and users and I was a non-executive director for four years. The Phone Coop continues to go from strength to strength and is the UK’s fastest growing co-op and was Social Enterprise of the year recently.

While I was at Warwickshire County Council I led their workon Co-operatives, Mutuals and Social Enterprises. and chaired the councils Corporate Social Enterprise Group. The council launched its ‘rough guide’ to mutuals and social enterprises for staff, in July. This work has been covered in a double page interview with me in the Municipal Journal on 28 July 2011. I have posted a copy on my WCC work page.
This work has led to my establishing with colleagues a new venture, LaunchPad which promotes and supports cooperatives mutuals and social enterprises.
2012 is the UN International Year of Co-operatives. I shall give more prominence to this area of interest during the year.
