A book on a subject that just won’t go away. For example my letter in ‘The Observer’ on 3 August 2025. Debate now swirls around whether nuclear power can ‘solve’ the climate crisis. (Spoiler alert: it can’t).

The issue of the link between nuclear power and the proliferation of nuclear weapons is also very current. Nearly all commentators for example acknowledge that the Hinkley C nuclear power station makes no sense economically as renewables become so much cheaper. But of course it will produce plutonium to fuel a new generation of Trident submarines. And the electricity consumer will be charged.
